I really love this speaker. I was having trouble findingan American voiced speaker that wasnt spikey on the top end and/or overly bassy and this strikes a great balance. Its not too loud which I like because of the speaker distortion. Its just a really well balanced speaker which is exactly what i was after.
After trying a few speakers ranging from British Alnico to American style ceramic speakers I found this to be the perfect choice for my Louis Electric Tweed Deluxe. I prefer the lower power handling and a less efficient speaker is a better fit with a 5E3 style circuit . The voicing is perfect and it has vintage features vibes all the way.
We are currently out of cork gaskets for all speakers. Our next shipment is expected to arrive between late May and late June. When placing your order, please indicate in the order notes whether you would like your speaker built with foam gaskets, or if you would prefer to wait for cork gaskets.
12" seamed ribbed cone with a large alnico magnet with a paper voice coil, the replacement for P12N.
Similar to the 12LA but with less output and a more smooth sound yet balanced. A slightly smoother sound that retains headroom with a bit of nice compression. Originally intended for studio or home use, many musicians claim it to be the closest to the original P12N from 4 and 5 decades ago.
