Not for me

I took a chance on this for my 65 reissue Princeton, and it doesn’t work for me unfortunately. It sounds decent clean, but when I use overdrive pedals, there’s a very strange, grainy fizzy type high end that I do not get with my previous speakers. It’s noticeably dark at the same time, far less treble than my other speakers. I’m not sure where the unpleasant high-end comes from when using any distortion, I did pay extra for the speaker break-in service, so I’m kind of stumped on that. It’s dark like there’s a blanket over the speaker but fizzy and Hollow too. Unfortunately, it’s been back in the box since the week I got it and is up for sale . Previous speakers in this amp are 2 Jensen P10R models, one of them being the fender edition, and the other speaker being the celestion alnico gold. Since I had only used alnico speakers in this amp, I thought it was time to give ceramic a go. I chose the speaker after watching the provided demos from Jack Fossett, I feel like it does not sound like that at all in my amp. The most positive thing I can say about this speaker is it’s big tight low end. It seems to have more of a mid range boost than I expected, but not in a way I was looking for, and the overdrive tones are just not good.

Great tone

Soeaker sounds amazing right out the box. Fits my Fender Princeton 68 like a glove.

Warm and Beautiful

I've enjoyed the speaker. Like others have said it has qualities of both Alnico and Ceramic speakers. It is warm, sultry, thick and rich. It has some treble but has never been harsh. It has nice bass and lower mids but has not been not woofy at all. Really a beautiful speaker.

That being it probably has some limitations. It is lower db and seems lower to me than advertised. It is advertised for studio and home use. It does fit well there. You can turn the amp up and it's not overpowering. For comparison a WGS G10c in the same amp is louder at 3 than this speaker is at 6 or 7.

It is pretty dark and may not be suitable for all amps.

There are some frequencies that are not present but I'm not sure which ones. Maybe some high and upper mid frequencies.

Awesome Speaker

Sometimes ceramic speakers can be too bold and spikey, while Alnico's can lack in certain things as well..... This speaker has the punch of a ceramic but a little bit of softness like an old Alnico. Hard to describe, but it ended up being exactly what I was looking for. Highly recommended! Great sounding speaker! I used it in a vintage Champ that I modded from an 8 to a 10". After hearing it, I have a feeling one of these will end up in my Princeton Reverb as well.

The M10C has a slightly smoother sound that retains headroom. Similar to the 10LC but with less output but a more balanced sound with more presence and sparkle on the top end.   Initially intended for studio or home use, musicians claim it to be the closest to the original C10N from 4 and 5 decades ago.  The standard voice coil gives a more 3D presence when compared to a paper voice coil.

"Through the Princeton Reverb, thanks to the 50-watts, it gave the amp a sweet and crystalline shimmer, and a bit more headroom, which is a good thing. The Jupiter 10 seems to somehow meld the best qualities of a ceramic and alnico into one sublime, strong and smooth pureness of fidelity that is inspiring. The top end is nice and pleasing, and not as punchy bright as our 1959 C10N. The vintage alnico Jensen P10N is lower powered, sultrier and smokier. We love this Jupiter 10. It sounds old, too. What a fascinating blend of clarity and roundness. Good lawd they got it right."
