In my opinion, Jupiter Speakers are the absolute best sounding speakers for American circuits, hands down. Sounds fantastic in my customer’s 5F1
I have a Monoprice 5 watt tube amp that I just couldn’t bond with. Even after playing it off and on for a year or so to break in the speaker, it always sounded harsh and shrilll. No matter how I adjusted the tone knob, what guitar I used, or what EQ or drive pedals I put with it, it was still ice pick-y. I decided to try a different speaker as a last ditch effort before selling it. Did some research online and stumbled across Jupiter Speakers. I ordered an 8sc with the optional break in to save some time. So glad I ordered one. This is a brand new amp. Much more bottom end. The highs are tamed but still clear and chimey. Sounds fantastic with all my guitars and drive pedals now.
My 1966 Vibro Champ had the original speaker in it when I got it, and it was in need of some love. I had it re-coned by a very reputable company, and it improved things, but the sound wasn't what I wanted. After some research I settled on the 8SC and it has been amazing. The amp sounds bigger and less boxy. The new speaker is still breaking in, so I am sure it is just going to get better. The original speaker lives in the Jupiter box now.
I purchased this for a GA-5 build (8 ohms) and knew the ceramic unit would fit the small cabinet. I updated the GA-5 significantly with premium components and wanted a real quality speaker like this Jupiter. Already owning Jupiters (alnicos and ceramic units) for other Tweed and Blackface guitar amp builds I had no hesitation purchasing this speaker.
The fit and finish of the speaker is beautiful, and it sounds absolutely fantastic with the Gibson circuit. I replaced a Weber Signature ceramic with the Jupiter as I felt I could elevate the performance of the amp and was not disappointed!
I am working on a Vibro Champ now and will be purchasing another 8 inch Jupiter.
Orders have a lead time of approximately 1 week to ship.
